A flash survey recently found that 81% of planners will likely have events with both live & remote attendees, while 15% were unsure and 4% were not likely.
With hybrid events here to stay, I know that keeping your virtual attendees engaged can be a challenge. My team was hired to create the in-person & online AV experience for the two-day tech VueConf in Toronto for thousands of developers from many countries. Our setup included two in-person hosts with guests live streamed continuously and attendees online watching & interacting.

A two-day event can feel like a lifetime of digital fatigue. One of the ways the in-person hosts kept virtual attendees engaged was doing karaoke breaks together. Everyone was singing, including my AV team.
I have 30 years of in-person event experience, and I’m glad we are finally back in action, but here are some ways I can think of to bring that physical vibe to increase the engagement of your virtual attendees in an infographic you can keep for reference.
